What did Jesus do up on the mountain?
People say He went up there to 'Pray'!
But I like to think He went up to meet Father
At the start or the end of each day...

When He was baptised, and His Father called gladly:
This is My beloved Son...
The people around thought it had thundered
And they looked up to see from where it had come!

When He was transfigured with Elijah and Moses
Peter tried to make sense of the scene...
He said: Let us build Succas for all of you three!
Jesus rolled his eyes, chuckled and thought: Peter, you're beaned!

So Jesus went up to the mountain
'Cause earthlings would never understand
How Father and Spirit and He talked, laughed and listened
About humans on earth and the plans that They had!

I like to imagine what went on up there...
Loud 'Hello's', Godhead hugs, high fives rending the air
Resounding laughter, sheer joy to meet up again
After Jesus had slept a night, or worked a day in earth's realm.

If Jesus went up alone, vexed, troubled or tired
I am sure He always came down happy, refocused, re-fired
Because He'd gained perspective, and strength for His goal
Big Three had decided you and I were worth it all!

Quiet time is a pleasure when I think of it this way
My time to reflect or commit to God each new dawning day
The Big Three are awaiting, so where will I be?
Asleep, on Facebook, with TV, or like Jesus on my knees?

MAKE TODAY COUNT

We all know life's uncertain!
No one knows when we will go.
Take time on earth before heaven,
And God's love to others show.
It only takes a moment
To reach out with loving word.
Some effort can bring kindness,
To a love starved, hurting world.
What can I give up to give away,
To someone less fortunate than me today?
What luxury can I forego,
To bring necessities to poverty's cruel door?
Take a moment now and ponder...
Ask: What would Jesus do and say?
To the teeming millions all around me
It could be my final chance today.

MY STRENGTH COMES FROM HIM

I may look strong but am frail inside.
My strength comes from Him who has promised to abide.
To walk me through every storm of life.
To see me thru every trail and all strife.

I lean hard on Him when I cannot stand.
His strength's infused as He takes my hand.
When I go to Him, He will never fail.
He makes me strong, though I am so frail.

I don't look down at the valley deep
I don't look around at the waves that creep
I don't look in where my fears may hide
I just look up and in Him abide.

That's how I surf my waves and ride my storms
That's how tho I feel frail, I look so strong!
That's coz He's taught me to lean on Him
That's how I make it thru thick and thin!

Yippee!!! I am MORE than a conqueror!
I can do ALL things!
He is ABLE to do MORE than I can ASK or THINK or IMAGINE.
Not just for me....but for u too!!
Try Him!

GO! SHINE IN THE DARKNESS!

How can I be light when I'm cloistered in the Church?
How can I be light when I leave darkness in the lurch?
I need to step out into the darkness to be
The light that Father commanded Jesus, now me.

Jesus said: You are the light of the world, go and preach
We say: Darkness come here, come to church, hear us teach
Isn't that backwards, turned right around?
No wonder the lost stay lost and never get found

We sing: Light of the world, You stepped out into darkness
Yet we won't dirty our feet to follow His steps
We sing all our songs and preach all our sermons
While the dying keep walking to eternity in hell.

Let us remember that Jesus said: Go!
Carry your light into darkness and show
That light conquers darkness like I conquered hell
If it only steps out into darkness to tell.

So let's leave our cloister, let's do what He said
Let's lay down our lives for those living, still dead
Let's walk into darkness and turn on the light
By living like Jesus in the world's constant night.

Jesus said: You are the light of the world. Let your light SHINE...
Then He said: GO into all the world and preach the gospel....

LET'S DISH OUT SOME LOVE!

Some Christians get delivered from smoking
Some brag that they never touch wine
These two seem to be most remembered
And used as spirituality's plumb-line.

But what about anger, and what about hate
That's dished out in secret as juicy gossip on a plate?
What about selfish living and pride
That behind our Sunday masks do hide?

Let's rip off that mask, and dish out some love
Let's lift each other up, reflect Father above.
The prodigal smelled piggish, was untouchable too
But the father reached out saying: I love you, as you!

In Matt 5:16,46 Jesus said:
Go, and do likewise.

CHOOSE YOUR LEVEL

The Crowds came to Jesus for the fish and the bread.
They chased Him for miracles, healings, raising the dead.
They took what they could, then went their own ways
They were tickled with His works but wanted none of His ways.
The Seventy stayed longer, saw the power in His Name
Followed Him closely till He sent them out to do the same
They went out in twos with His authority
They could heal and deliver and people set free.
The Twelve Jesus chose after much thought and debate
He prayed all night to Father, then called each one by name
He then lived every day with them, helping them to learn
What leading by example was, so they could do the same
From these He picked Three: Peter, James and then John
They shared His life much deeper, saw His glory and all
Each had special tasks assigned, as pillars of the church
To build and keep it going; to make His death worth
John the One was most special, though youngest of all
All knew Jesus loved him, he had a very special call
We’ll never know how John earned this special place in His heart
But he was last at the cross, and that’s a clue with which to start
Jesus offers levels to those who follow Him
Based on our responses to His teaching about sin
Crowd, Seventy, Twelve, Three: Where would you be?
I'm choosing One, like John. Will you choose with me?

MY LIFE MY CHOICE

When I choose to empty myself of my self
God chooses to fill me with Him
When I choose to let go of things I hold tight
He walks through my darkness and turns on His light.

Making right choices are the keys that I have
Use them or shelve them is all in my hands
But His hands are locked tho His heart's open to me
My choices can unlock His hands to free me.

I do this by choosing His Word and His Way
I do this by letting go, and not holding sway
I do this each moment each single day
It's not only smart, it's the best and only way.

To walk in sure victory o'er every battle life brings
To keep focus on heaven 'stead of earthly things
To stay pure and holy till His face I behold
Till I enter His realm where streets are pure gold.

Living on earth is His assignment to me
To learn the right choices that from sin can free me
It seems like a task, painful and sore
But His plan is perfect, so I trust and endure.

When I see Him in glory I will then understand
Why He did what He did while my earth life He planned.
Till then help me choose right, whatever betide
Coz my life's purpose is one...To be His perfect Bride.

SIN THE STALKER

Sin is like an ex-boyfriend
A jealous lover who will never leave
Constantly seeking my attention
While to my Lord I strive to cleave.

Sin has a reel of our past moments
Of everything we ever shared.
It picks the one that can hook me best
When in my present I reach unrest.

It could be money, it could be friends
It could be habits I need to mend.
It could be heart things I can't let go
Sin knows exactly what clip to show.

The purpose is to lure me back
To carnal ways...my sinful pact.
To earthly things that pass away
To make my feet from Jesus stray.

I need to focus everyday
I need to give Jesus complete sway
I need to fix my eyes on Him
Or my ex will get me...his name is sin!

VOICES

Voices all around me, do this, do that
Holy Spirit in me softly nudges: No
Which road will I take?
What decision will I make?
Help me Lord with You to flow.

The voices are logical, rational, right
Holy Spirit doesn't sound the same
How can He say: Love your enemy?
How can He say: Don't label blame?

But He did, I clearly heard Him
As I read my Father's Word
Softly whispered as I listened
Sure as ever it's Him I heard.

Let it go, He gently whispered
I know it's hard, I've been there too
When Jesus was on earth and suffered
Thru Him I knew what you're going thru.

Letting go is never easy
Not fighting back is always tough
But thats the only way to glory
Being like Jesus when the road gets rough.

SATAN HAS ASKED FOR YOU...

Satan has asked for you, Jesus told Pete.
He wants to shake up and sift you like wheat.
Job had the same thing dished out to him
When God boasted saying he was a man with no sin.

When Father God is in a parental mood
He often shouts praises in heaven
But sneaky Satan also hears what He says
And shouts back: I can still see leaven.

You go check it out, Father roars loud
Go test my child, I'll vouch for him now
Do what you will and you will soon see
My child will still love and honour Me

Satan then slinks to earth with a writ
But has a tight lease round his throat and his wrist
Onslaught he brings, but Father infuses
Strength for the trial and Satan then loses

So hang in there child, Satan can't do
Any more than Father gives him permission to
Each time you're tested just think of heaven
Where Father shows off His earth living children.

Your testing, your trial is a way you will know
That Father is pleased, but there's still dross to show
That the forming of Jesus in you's incomplete
The journey's not over, your dross needs the heat.

God was so pleased with Jesus His Son
He wanted more children like that perfect One
He uses the Devil to help with His cause
And through every trial He roots out our flaws.

Till pure and holy we slowly become
Through pain and temptation like Jesus the Son
Perfect children in glory God wants us to be
So He gives Satan rope to test you and me.

The Task

Everybody could see it....
Anybody could do it...
Surely, SOMEBODY would do it...
But Nobody did!!

Coz Everybody thought...
Why should I?
Anybody CAN do it...
Surely, Somebody WILL do it...
But Nobody DID!!

Then Everybody blamed Somebody...
Nobody took responsibility...
Coz Anybody COULD have done it...
But NOBODY did!!

In this story
Everybody is Somebody
Not Anybody can be a Nobody!!
Unless Somebody takes responsibility
To DO it!!

Inspired by 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Love suffers long, and continues to be kind
Love does not have an envious mind.
Love does not walk around doing an 'I' parade
Love is not proud, or rudely behaved.
Love is not selfish, seeking its own desire
It does not blow up in angry fire.
Love thinks no evil, doesn't rejoice in sin
It rejoices in truth, without and within.
Love is real strong, able all things to bear
Doesn't doubt, doesn't judge, but believes what is shared.
It doesn't give up, but continues to hope
When it comes to endurance, has a very long rope.
All else will pass in earth and in sky
Only love will remain, even after we die.

We Run a Race

Inspired by Deut 7:22
We run a race, but not at our pace
We run at the pace of Our Master
He knows where we are, and what we can do
He’s looking for steady, not faster
He builds us up one notch at a time
And tries our strength each step of the way
He wants us to know we can bear the load
That He lays on us on life’s torturous way.
We often say: O Lord enough
My shoulder is frail; I can’t take it
He smiles and replies: Child I know your strength
Your shoulder is Mine, I made it.
That’s what each test or temptation does
It just proves He is right, as always
It shows us we can carry the load
And keep steady on track, till we make it.
Once we are done with another feat
He infuses us with His power
To get back on track, stay steady not slack
And keep running till that unknown hour!

Love is a Choice we make!

Love is a choice we make to go the extra mile.
Love is a risk we take when it doesn't seem worthwhile.
Love starts with easy, but can become tough.
Sometimes all you do is never really enough.
That's when it helps to know that love is an action word
That becomes more real when seen, not heard.
So keep loving and giving, being faithful and true.
Someday the love you give may come back to you!
I said: May...! :) :)

Thank you for being there!

Thank you for believing in me when most people couldn't
Thanks you for standing by me, when most people wouldn't
Thank you for being a friend in need, willing my sorrow to share
Thank you for not judging, condemning, instead helping my burden to bear.

You'll never know the strength you inspired
When life dealt me blows that left me worn and tired.
You'll never know the blessing you were
When the heartache and pain left me gasping, unsure.

I was battered and broken, shattered and torn
Under the pain I felt so alone.
But you came along; you reached for my hand
You gathered me up and got me to stand.

I've come thru that pain; I've learned that in life
There are friends who are friends when everything's nice
But there are very few...not many like you
Who are friends indeed, 'coz they're friends that meet needs.

Thank you!

My home...my witness

It's in my home that my life must count,
'Coz here is the true test of my faith.
Proved through works of patience and love
When all sorts creeps onto my plate.

One never knows what a day will hold
Joy, fun, laughter or trials untold.
But how I cope helps my family see
If Jesus is real and He lives through me.

So give me the love that I need, dear Lord
To be like You in deed and word
May my light so shine in this place called home
So Father in heaven will all the glory own.

Please make me more like Jesus today! Amen.

Which Truth is more real?

Is Truth asleep in the back of your boat?
Are the waves in your life riding high?
Are you overwhelmed by the storm out there?
Do you run to Jesus and desperately cry...
Lord, don't You care, see me tossing around
Not a hope, only fear in my heart abounds
Wake up, Jesus, do Your thing right here
This storm overwhelms, drowning me in tears.

He opens His eyes, looks around and smiles
Child, didn't I say we're going to the other side?
What do you believe, what I say or what you see?
Has the truth of your situation become bigger than Me?
I am the Truth, not the truth of your storm
Have faith in Me, and you will carry on.
Father's Word is Truth, it will set you free
If that's too hard - I'm the Truth, just believe in Me!

O death, you have no sting!!

Life is an inevitable race…
At birth we begin, at death finish
Birth is exciting but death not so
For birth we prepare, death we try to ignore
We welcome birth, but never death…
Why so?
If death is our inevitable destiny
Why don’t we want to face it?
If death is our most certain exit
Why do we fear to embrace it?
It’ll be so much easier if we do…
To cross the line when life is through
If we live each day staring death in the face,
We’ll live better lives, run a better race!
So think about it from here on…
‘Will it be today?’ ask every morn.
When you do this you will soon find
The fear of death is left far behind.
Each day becomes fresher, fuller, yes!
Than when dodging death and its imagined mess
Life becomes a pleasure then
When death is part of life, Amen!

Make each day a Masterpiece for the Master!

No one’s promised tomorrow
All we have is today!
To be light and salt for Father
While on earth we stay.
We don’t live here, remember?
Heaven’s our permanent abode
So hold lightly to earthly belongings
Or sink with their heavy load.
With hearts fixed firmly on heaven
And feet staying put on the ground
There’s only on way to please Him
Grace and Truth in our lives should abound.
Grace for the sinner, though not for the sin
Truth to live holy and souls to win
Both Jesus fleshed out to exemplify
That we can live like Him if we choose to die
Die to the sin that so easily besets us
Die to the soulish realm of our needs
Live unto Father with His Word as our anchor
Only make choices as His Spirit leads
Stay close to Jesus each step of the way
‘Coz no one’s promised tomorrow
All we have is today!

Good Friday...What a Name!!

Good Friday, what a name!
The day Jesus was put to shame
For love He came, for love He gave
All He had, went to the grave
Forever sealed my future there
Showed His love, undying care
Buried there was all my sin
My grief, my pain, my rot within
He took my wage n set me free
To be with Him eternally

The Power of One!

Noah stood alone and honoured God when…

The earth was full of godless and sinful men.

He dared to be different; he dared to obey

When wilfulness and sin were the order of his day

God’s heart was weary with all humankind

Their sinful revelling just blew His mind

He looked through the earth and He couldn’t see

More than one soul focused on eternity.

Noah helped God smile through His pain

Tho’ He wanted to destroy all, He thought again

God said: Hey, Noah, I want you to see

How eternally rewarding the Power of One can be!

Tho’ there’s only you below who seeks My face

I’ll save your whole family, and preserve your race.

You alone find favour in my My sight down there

That’s good enough for Me your family to spare

Through My wrath and pain you have clearly shown Me

One human’s enough to switch to plan B

So come on My man, let’s work together

Take hammer and saw and the flood we will weather

You and I, Noah, are more than enough

To take on demons of darkness and call their bluff

Let’s go!

WWJD

‘What Would Jesus Do’ is a band on my wrist

Do I really act on it when my life takes a twist?

What do I do when life overwhelms?

Do I say: Peace! Be Still! Take charge at the helm?

When a demon dares accost me, do I run in fear?

Or like Jesus say: Be quiet. Get out. Don’t ever step back here.

When my friend’s forsake when I need them most

And have begged them for me to pray

Do I sink into depression, or like Jesus simply say:

They do love me, I know they do, and yet they are weak

It’s OK, let them slumber on, it’s my Father I will seek

I’ll keep loving them as though they never forsook me

And be there for them, always near, right through eternity

Let this band on my wrist be more than my fashion statement

Let it be my way of living, coz that’s what the author meant!

The uncertainty of life...

People want to live here forever
and they think they can.
But God has said three score and ten
is length of days for man..
You may be sick
You may be well
You may be rich or poor as hell
But life and death are His dominion
Only He gets to tell
If you will see the Sun tomorrow
Or wake in heaven or hell!

Mirror Image

The only Jesus others may see
Is the one that they see in me!

If I live with this one thought
‘Tis enough to turn my life about
And make me loving, kind and true
To every person both old and new
Who comes across my path each day
And interacts in some small way

Lord, help me be what You want me to
Salt and Light...a true reflection of You!

My Daddy Watches Over Me...

I wake up each morning...
And I don’t know what the day holds...
But He does...so I trust!

I go to bed each night...
And I don’t know what the night holds...
But He does...so I rest!

Each day and night He watches me
He follows my path so carefully.
Why should I worry...why should I care...
When His eye is on me everywhere?!

So, rest my soul, and take delight
In Father’s watching day and night
Don’t fret; don’t fear but trust and rest
‘Tis not just a good way to be...it is the BEST!

TWO LITTLE SPARROWS

Two little sparrows sitting in a tree,
Said one to the other, “Do you see what I see?
These humans running to and fro,
Anxious and worried as to work they go,
Pushing and shoving to meet every need,
Forgetting the difference between necessity and greed.”

The other replied, “Don’t they know,
That the Heavenly Father who loves us so,
Is the same loving Father to whom they can go?”

“Oh, they do know,” the first one said,
But knowing happens only in the head.
If they will only let knowledge move down to the heart,
Then they’ll experience what it means to be smart,
Trusting Father God as every creature should,
And they won’t have to hustle and bustle for their food.

Remember what Jesus told them while He was here on earth?
‘Don’t worry about tomorrow, Just look at the birds?’
But humans have knowledge... they think they’re smart.
That’s why they’d rather worry, than have a change of heart.

They like to have control of their daily bread.
It doesn’t really matter what Jesus said.
So they give up resting and heart trusting,
Doesn’t matter that they lose...the true meaning of living.”

SUCCESS

Some people measure success in money
Some people measure success in fame
But the true measure of success lies
In making yourself a name.
Not ‘cause you’re rich and famous
But ‘cause you’re loving and true
Not ‘cause you walk the red carpet
But ‘cause you dare to be you.
Being you is the hardest achievement
That anyone can ever attain
‘Cause everyone wants to be someone else
Someone who has captured their brain.
We think we should be that person
We think we’ll make it if we
Can just become a clone of their image...
Whatever that image might be.
The person we so admire
Is struggling himself to be
Someone else whom he aspires
In his own dreams to be!
So quit being captured by people
Who are as normal as me and you
Start being who God has made you...
He made you to be no one but YOU!

FREIND, COME UP HIGHER...

Jesus was my Savior
When my journey just began...
My journey into discovery
Taken by every man
When I walked in darkness
In sin and misery...
Jesus came and showed the light
Forgave sin and set me free.
Then I began to read His Word...
And I was His child
He became my Father
Teacher, Counselor, Strength and Guide
His Word turned into flesh in me
As I chose to obey
It changed me ever so gently
Though sometimes I did despair
My Self...it never likes the Word
It struggles and it squirms
It tries to wangle out of Truth
It tries to dodge and spurn
‘Cause to obey is sacrifice
It’s laying down my life
It’s letting go, it’s giving in
It’s nothing short of death!
The Word and Self they battle on
Sometimes it rages strong
But as I call on Him for help
He holds, helps and leads on.
He leads me on to victory
‘Cause He has won the war
Each battle whether won or lost
The final’s His, I know!
As I obey and as He helps
I move on step by step
Closer, higher, deeper still
In our relationship
Now He’s my Savior, Master, King
Provider, Protector, Everything!
Father, Mother, Brother, Lover
But best of all He’s Friend!

MY DADDY AND I...

My heart leaps out
My soul rejoices
My Daddy delights in me!
I wake with singing
My ears are ringing
With words He says to me!
‘I love you, my girl
I always will
You bring joy to me My child!
I’ve watched you grow
I want you to know
I’ve always been by your side!
You’ve fallen down
I’ve lifted you
You’ve got right up again!
You and I, girl
We’ll make this road
Till you never fall in pain!
You’ve looked to Me
When there was no one else
You’ve begged Me thru your tears…
‘Daddy don’t leave
Just stay real close
‘N’ I’ll make it thru this fear…
I shall walk this road
That You’ve chalked for me
I know You see the end…
The road is rough
The maze is tough
But You know what’s beyond the bend.
I trust You so
And I want You to know
I’ll trust you whatever betide…
One thing I ask
Thru my journey, my task
Your Face from me don’t hide.’
My answer to you
As you journey thru
Is, ‘My girl, I am right here…
Not for one moment
Will I leave your side
My darling, never fear…
Your tears may blur
Your vision of me
But I don’t cry like you.
Tho’ my heart does weep
My vision I keep
On you…I’ll take you thru.’

THANK YOU FOR YOUR LOVE

Your love is so strong it sees me through
Your kindness keeps drawing me closer to You.
Dear Jesus I thank You for helping me see
What Your love and Your kindness is doing in me!
Whenever I’m down You lift me up...
When I feel dry you fill up my cup.
Dear Jesus I thank You for helping me see...
What Your love and Your kindness is doing in me!
What would I do without You by my side?
How would I handle life’s raging tide?
Thank You for being so close to me
That You feel what I feel ‘fore it touches me...
Your love and Your kindness, they stay with me
No matter how hateful or bad I may be
So long as my heart is yearning for You
You’ll stay by my side and You’ll see me through.
When I am weary ‘coz life gets so tough
Your gentle hands keep holding me up.
Dear Jesus I thank You for helping me see
What Your love and Your kindness is doing in me.
I know that I’ll make it to the end of the road.
‘Coz You’ve promised to carry this burden, this load
N when I get there to glory I will clearly see
That Your love and Your kindness did it all in me!

Hello 21...

Hello 21…
Wow, you’re a man!
That’s what the law of the land would say.
But what does it mean – I mean, really mean
In this world of the ‘macho man’ today?
It means being strong, by not flaunting your strength,
It means being faithful and true.
It means holding up when ev’rything’s down…
It means being strong to be you!
Life around us has this happy knack
Of ebbing and flowing like the tide.
My son, being a man means hanging in there
Your faith being your anchor, His Word being your guide.
Your anchor is deep, we’ve labored for that.
And now the time has come…
To test the high seas and trust you to Him.
I tremble to let go...but there’s no other way son.
To ride the white water, to stay right on top…
Not just to survive as you pitch and you drop.
But be a beacon of light to all those around
Who are searching for strength, where none can be found.
A beacon that calls…‘You can do it too…
He’s holding me – Look! He’s holding you…
We’re in this together, our Pole Star is one.
He’ll bring you right thru, like others He’s done.’
You may not feel His Hands when the waves are so high…
Believe me; they’re there, tho’ the waves touch the sky.
You may not feel His love in the pitch of the night…
But at the end of the tunnel His love is the light.
Ev’ry day of your life, He chalked out before
You set out on this voyage 21 years ago…
He knows, ‘coz He chartered the Master Plan…
You stay right on course…your yacht’s in His hand.
Remember, real strength is not what you see.
It’s not what the world would want you to be.
It’s not being loud, it’s not acting tough.
It’s not getting gruff when life plays rough.
It’s being at peace in the midst of the storm.
It’s lying in wait till the break of dawn.
It’s choosing to choose to look within…
To find that real strength comes only from HIM.
